Part 23

Where: HMS Sutherland
When: May, 1810

Remus’ first thought upon finding himself once again on board a ship was, plainly, fuck! It wasn’t that he hadn’t enjoyed meeting the pirates and the very helpful Mister Will Turner. It was that, given land where he was stable and sea where he was nauseated, he much preferred the solid ground.

Except, this time around, his stomach stayed in place and his head continued to be clear. There was no trace of seasickness in him as he strode through the deck of what appeared to be a British ship of war. There were cannons as far as the eye could see and the British flag and royal insignias on barrels and pieces of parchment lying about. Moreover, it definitely didn’t feel like the pirate ship. It felt like a ship with meaning, a ship on a mission.

Deciding that the TARDIS was too conspicuous in its current disguise in such tight quarters, Remus covered it with some empty burlap bags and transfigured them to look like the side of the ship. Then he and the Doctor attempted to figure out where exactly they were.

Remus heard someone behind him shout for them to stop, and Remus wasn’t sure whether that meant they should indeed stop or if they should take off at a run. Hesitantly, he turned to see several sailors storming towards them. As they were on a ship, there wasn’t really anywhere to run. So Remus and the Doctor let the men take them into custody and take them up on the deck to see the captain.

“Stowaways? On a British naval warship? I’ve never heard of such a thing.” The captain walked back and forth in front of Remus and the Doctor, pacing thoughtfully, looking none too excited by their presence on his ship.

“We’re just passing through,” the Doctor said. “I don’t suppose the name Captain Jack Sparrow means anything to you?”

Not amused, the captain narrowed his eyes in answer.

“How about Nelson?”

At once, the captain’s eyes lit up. “You knew Lord Nelson?”

Well, they certainly knew of him. But the Doctor’s psychic paper did its usual trick. The Captain stared at his, his expression changing. “My apologies, gentlemen. Can I get you anything? We’re just a week out of port. There’s even some coffee, if you like.”

“No thank you,” Remus replied. The Doctor didn’t answer. He was staring at a man who had just appeared above decks.

“I’m Captain Horatio Hornblower. And this my First Lieutenant, William Bush.”

The Doctor stepped forward, shaking the captain’s hand, then the lieutenant’s. “You look incredibly familiar to me,” said the Doctor to Bush. “Have I met you before?”

“No, sorry, I do not believe we have met, Sir.”

The Doctor cocked his head. “Your face is so familiar. I know I’ve seen it before…”

The ship rocked with the water and Remus and the Doctor, not seasick but still not possessed of sea legs yet, stumbled slightly. “Perhaps you would be more comfortable down in my cabin? We’ll find you somewhere suitable to sleep, but until then, please feel free to use my cabin as if it were your own.”

“Thank you,” said Remus. “That’s most generous of you. I would not take you away from your duties here, but perhaps you would be kind enough to show me the way?”

“Most certainly, Sir,” Hornblower said, without a second thought.

Remus raised his eyebrows at the Doctor, questioningly. The man shook his head. He took a deep breath of the salty air. “I shall catch up with you later.”

“I promise not to go running off,” Remus joked. There wasn’t exactly anywhere he could go in the middle of the ocean.

The Captain’s cabin was simple and hardly spacious, but comfortable enough. Remus sat down to try out the bed, and immediately found himself joined by Hornblower himself. “I’d hoped you would accompany me here alone,” Hornblower said. “It isn’t often that we get distinguished visitors who are quite so… handsome.”

“Captain,” said Remus, blushing. “You flatter me.” He knew it was partially due to the pheromones, that the Captain couldn’t truly help what he was feeling or saying. But it was nice to hear anyway.

“You deserve it,” Horatio Hornblower replied. “I know this is probably highly improper, given your rank. However, I cannot deny that I am drawn to you. You’re a man of the sea. You’re so young and attractive- despite the scars and a few gray hairs- to be in your position…”

Remus did not know what position that was supposed to be exactly, but the Captain was at least as handsome as Remus was, if not more. All right, there was a slightly-receding hairline and perhaps the man wasn’t entirely as fit as once he had been, but Remus found his power and position as interesting as the man found his. And those eyes, that face, Remus wanted him as much as he wanted Remus.

So Remus put his hand on the man’s shoulder, and slid it towards the man’s neck. He tugged. Then the man leaned over and kissed him. He smelled and tasted like the sea. He moved quickly, but his actions were carefully considered, not to mention spectacular. He slid his mouth over Remus’ lips, then he trailed kisses down Remus’ chin and neck. “I cannot believe I am doing this…” said Hornblower, eagerly running his hands up under Remus’ shirt.

“If you’re uncomfortable doing this, we can stop. I’ll say nothing of it, of course.” Remus wanted to make sure he wasn’t taking advantage.

But Hornblower shook his head. “I have had… friends. I’ll not name names.”

“I wouldn’t ask you to.”

“I would like very much to count you among them. So long as it does not interfere with you function on my ship.”

“I can guarantee that, Captain.”

“And so long as you would like… to have me,” he said self-consciously.

Knowing that feeling, Remus smiled. “Naturally, I’ll have you. I wouldn’t have asked for you to show me around down here otherwise. Please do as you like with me, Sir.”

Horatio put his hat on Remus’ head then climbed off the bed. With Remus’ help, down came Remus’ pants, stopping between Remus’ knees and ankles. He dropped to his knees and squared off in-between Remus’ legs. He inspected what he found there for a moment, considering his options. Then he resumed kissing, starting at one knee and working upwards. His lips were rough, chapped from the harsh winds, and Remus’ sensitive thighs trembled at the touch.

Hornblower looked up at Remus, who was more than happy to have his dick sucked. “Hand me that candle, if you like?” Horatio requested, diffidently.

Remus did, knowing exactly what was next and, yet, being not remotely prepared for it. The hot wax dripped onto his thigh and Remus stifled a yell. Hornblower looked impressed. He tipped the candle, dripping tiny drops across Remus’ belly, around his naval. Remus squirmed, whimpered, and fell back against the bed. The sheets smelled heavily of the man, and Remus first breathed deeply and then buried his face in a feather pillow to muffle his yells. He reached down, touching the smooth, hardened wax against his skin. That was highly arousing, especially as the man’s hand did the same. They both caressed Remus and Remus went so weak he closed his eyes.

So he was caught completely off guard when a trail of wax struck him just above the base of his cock and ran into the light brown hair there. Remus breathed out heavily into the pillow and whimpered, thrusting, finding both the captain’s hand and mouth there to satisfy him. As the sharp pain and heat died away, pleasure took over. Remus’ hips thrust upwards, meeting skin where Hornblower gripped him, pulling back foreskin, and wetness where Hornblower had his mouth hanging open for him. When the cock was in his mouth, Hornblower’s tongue circled around the head. And when that happened, Remus came and cried out again into the pillow.

Walking funny, Remus made his way through the ship. His aim was for the TARDIS, intending to get cleaned off properly. He was sure the way he was walking attracted attention, but it wasn’t until he was a few feet from the hidden TARDIS that he was intercepted. “Can I help?” asked the lieutenant that the Doctor had been preoccupied with earlier.

Remus stopped on the balls of his feet, then rocked back and forth. “I, ah…” He turned and immediately found the man’s lips on his cheek.

“Let me help,” said Bush. “I’ve asked Gerard and Crystal to keep the men away from here. We have it all to ourselves.”

Bush was older than his captain, with a slightly craggy face and a matter-of-fact way about him. And if he was offering to help, Remus wasn’t going to refuse a man who looked so good in a uniform. He made his request, and Bush snuck away for a few minutes.

The lieutenant returned with a cloth and a basin of water. Remus undressed quickly and let the man wash him clean. The cool, wet cloth against his skin made him shiver, so he stood closer to Bush. “Hold me?” Bush put his arm around Remus as he cleaned the man off. “So nice,” Remus whispered, as the hardened wax was cleaned off his body. “Thank you.”

“Of course,” Bush said firmly, and Remus had the sense that Bush would do pretty much anything Remus told him. “The captain can be a little rough sometimes. I hope he did not hurt you.”

“Only in a good way.” Remus shook his head and kissed Bush’s neck. “Though I greatly appreciate your care.” Bush washed gently.

Remus soon pushed the cloth away and warmed himself up against Bush’s body. His cock hardened and reddened against the wool uniform. More importantly, he could feel the man’s erection against Remus’ bare, clean thigh.

He got the man out of that fine uniform, wishing he could have used magic to vanish the clothes even faster. Then he bent the man over a low canon. He smacked the man’s arse playfully then immediately rammed himself in. There was nowhere for Bush to grip, so his body slid against the cool metal.

Remus thrust fast and hard. Bush came first, making quite the mess, and Remus followed right up afterwards.

As soon as Remus pulled out, Bush pushed off the canon and got to his feet. “Thank you, Sir.”

Remus wanted to ask if he and the captain ever did that sort of thing, but decided that wasn’t the sort of thing someone in his position would ask… whatever his position was.

Remus meant to ask the Doctor what the psychic paper had said they were, but they were on the TARDIS and heading off when the Doctor had a sudden brainwave. He snapped his fingers. “I know where I’ve seen that face before!”

Remus was helping again with the controls. After a few weeks, he was starting to figure out what a handful did. “Where?”

The Doctor smiled. “From a past life.”

Yes, I just couldn’t resist using Paul McGann here, since he has portrayed both Bush and the 8th Doctor
